Major Duties:
The Division of Information Technology (DIT) provides information technology (IT) leadership and services in support of the FDIC, including policy and program direction; development, implementation and maintenance of information systems; management of telecommunications networks, hardware, and software; and servicing the information needs and requests of users within and outside the Corporation.
The IT Specialist, CG-2210-13 leads project teams in defining developer tools and standards to provide an effective development environment. Working under the guidance of the section chief or senior IT specialists, the IT specialist manages product portfolios, consisting primarily of reporting tools/software, developer tools/software, and other enterprise software. Participating in the design and/or conducting of analytical studies and other research, the IT specialist will evaluate COTS software products and make
recommendations to senior management on the adoption of new technology within the enterprise. Working with contractor staff, the IT specialist will monitor contractor performance and use of resources to ensure effective attainment of project goals. The IT specialist will work in a team environment to analyze complex information technology problems and coordinate among multiple organizational segments to implement solutions into the production
environment.
Qualifications and Evaluations:
Only United States citizens and nationals (residents of American Samoa and Swains Island) are eligible for appointment to competitive service jobs.
Candidate must have one year of specialized experience at the CG/GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience involving IT project and software tool portfolio management.
