Lynn Daucher (Republican) is tied statistically with Lou Carerra (Democrats) for State Senate seat. Lynn leads by 13 votes out of almost 79,000 votes casted. This is a race where Vietnamese-American played a very important swing vote.
In Northern California,
Heidi Pham lost (Milpitas city council)
Lien Tu Phung lost (School board)
Chuck Reed (Democrat) vs. Cindy Chavez (Democrat) for San Jose City mayor. Chuck won by 20 points, one of the most lopsided mayoral victories in San Jose.
Vietnamese-American played a very important part in this race. Nine out of 10 Vietnamese-American voted for Chuck despite the fact that Cindy received endorsement of the only VNmese-American city council member - Madison Nguyen. Cindy even lost in the heavily Vietnamese-American district that Madison Nguyen represent.
