Can Bros tell me what the distributor does in the car?,where is that distributor? thank you

To distribute electricity to each wire going to the spark plug at the correct timing. The abruption of cutting resulted by fast sweeping makes the current goes up to about 20,000 volts and strong ampere so that electricity can jumps the spark plug gap.
It is located in your engine bay. Just trace back from any wire on the engine. You should see a round thing with 5 or 7 wires (4 or 6 cylinders engine) connected to its top. That's the distributor, usually in black color. The core is inside that cap.
