I saw a Volk Wagon Gulf 99 160,000mile for 2,800$ wat u think?? well i pay a 300$ down for it already...they say they ganna fix the water pump, and alignment, new trans. should i pay the rest or? thnx....

160k miles is scrary but the price is right as long as they fix all the problems that you have mentioned.
If I don't remember wrong, that Golf is a turbo car and the turbo engine can last upto 300k miles.

oh really? thnx phalanx..the dealer been calling for the last 2days but too bz to and too scared to puck up the fone....not too sure about the car....

It depends on what kind of Golf it is, not all Golfs are turbo. I agree the price is right but 160,000 miles for a VW (doesn't matter what model it is) is pretty scary. I've heard a lot of horror stories about used VWs.
In my opinion: get your money back and stay away from used VWs

I would stay away from German cars. Their design are hard to repair, so the labor cost is high. They don't use standard tools like those American and Japanese.

Just prepare to re haul the turbo, if it does come with one. I had a Porsche and I had to replace the turbo, cause of the last owner was hard on the car.
