Her Picture (the lexus) should be taken side by side with her husband (the 4Runner) but it is so cold and she is very dirty now (due to the snow stom last week). More pics are coming when she is clean (the car, Ok, not the wife).

It is a 250 AWD. I like the 350 better (with 3.5L V6 306 hp and 277 ft tq) but it is RWD ONLY. I live in snowy state so she won't like it. It has NAVI with backup camera, HID with AFS, Heated and Ventilated (cooling) seats and all other goodies. MRSP is closed to 40k and I got 8% off (tax and title extra), not a bad deal since it is an 2007 model.

Will take more pics when the weather permits (along with my beloved 4Runner).

I knew that Lexus will put that on the Top-Of-The-Line model first. Lexus dealer here can install the aftermarket one for about $700 but I hate to carry 2 remote controls all the time.

So the Highlander can have 7-pass with 3.5L 280 hp? I think this is the standard engine, what about the hybrid? Will it still use the same current Generation system of 3.3L coupling with the electric motor, same as the RX400h?

2009 Lexus RX will have V8? Or is it 3.5L coupling with the Electric motor like the GS450h? Will it have 7-pass as well (to match the Acura MDX)? I'm sure it will have push-start button, 6-speed trans, LED lights, Dual Exhuals...

The reason I asked for the SUVs is because my 4Runner is about 5 years old, if I let go of it then I'll need another SUV for winter here, it could be either the NEW RX, Highlander, or 4Runner. However, if I keep it then I want to have a RWD car for myself in the summer. If the Supra is in the mid 30k to mid 40k then it could be a good one but if it is in the 60k+ then it is OUT OF MY REACH.

I'm not "rich" or dare to consider to be rich at all. a $40k car is not that expensive at all. her Maxima is old so she needs to have a new car anyway.

The comment I made is not for you. It's just for an audience in general. I did not mean anything bad in the comment. I just want to point out what I've seen / experienced. I'm not sure what you mean by "unfriendly" but sometimes the truth hurts.

There is nothing wrong with your logic.
Again, it goes back to the original question which is ambiguous and the answer is YMMV.
"EXPENSIVE" is also YMMV. "EXPENSIVE" to a $20K income person may not be to another $20K income person.
Ex: A person with $20K income (roughly $1200 monthly take home) still can afford a $40K car if and only if it's the only big debt he/she has to worry about.
I've seen a few of these already. Who are they? College students or newly grads still live with parents.
