I copy this from another site posted by saidadude:

Claremont Toyota in CA has a HUGE sale this weekend. 50 Camry LE's 4 cyl at this price (fixed price!): $17,977. Nice bonus: Mats (CF) included and free oil changes for life! Check the Fri Jan 26 LA Times for Ad.

We bought an automatic Silver LE.
Our breakdown:
- 17,977 LE Automatic (with CF mats)
- 55 Doc Fees
- 1487.64 Tax
- 116 Lic Fees
- 64 Reg
- 8.75 CA Tire fees (?)
Total: $19708.39 out the door - well below invoice!

BTW, ours is made in Japan (VIN starts with "J"). Noticed after we bought it. Most were made in US (VIN starts with "1"). Good luck to all!

This is a good deal.
I wonder if any VCB can get deal like this (or better?).

Very good deal; always try to get the one that's assembled in Japan, way better quality control.

Nam,

I have to disagree with U there.
It was true few years ago.
Nowsaday, I do not think it's matter anymore because QA in both places have the same guidelines.
If not, U will hear everyone says "stay away from any vin number not start with J" ;)
Trust me, news travels very fast with current technology.

On the side note,
I did not get that deal. It's not doable in TX.

With 2007 model, I doubt that you can get the one made in japan. I believe that all 07 camrys are made in the U.S, even the Hybrids are made in America now (some are still imported, though).

From what the OP posted in the mesg, he gets one with VIN starting with "J".
Unless their label changes, it should be made in Japan.

It's typical for any new design.
Specially with Toyota, they try to push the Camry out little early (to surpass Honda and Nissan).
They will have lots of little glitches but they're all under warranty.
If U remember back in 97 when the new design came, they had problem as well.
Every 5 year, Toyota tries to do a face lift.
The first year of the face lift is not quite perfect :D
