Cho tui hỏi chút: 4X2 hay 4X4 là cái gì? Xe hơi 4X2 và 4X4 khác nhau ra làm sao? Nghe nói tới hoài mà hổng hiểu.

4X2 là xe có bánh 4 bánh nhưng chỉ chạy được bánh sau mà thôi, 4X4 là chạy được 4 bánh sau khi mà shift nó vào 4X4 ở gần chổ vô số. Nếu không cần thì chạy hai bánh sau (hoặc wheel tùy theo người nói).

4x2: là xe có 4 bánh, chuyển động 1 cầu. 4x4 là xe 4 bánh, chuyển động 2 cầu.

Generally, for cars it usually Chạy bằng cầu trước (Front Wheel Drive -FWD) hoặc cầu sau (Rear Wheel Drive - RWD). Thỉnh thoảng có se chạy 2 cầu (All Wheel Drive - AWD). Example for AWD cars: Lexus IS250 AWD, GS350-300 AWD, LS460 Hybrid, Acura RL, Infiniti M35X, G35X, Benz 4Matic, BMW 325XI, 530XI... and many others.

For Trucks, if you see the vehicle is listed as 4x2 it means this one is RWD only. If it listed as 4x4 then this one can operate as RWD (most of the time) and can be engaged to be operated as AWD. Most truck will be configured as 4x4 instead of AWD.

For SUVs, if the SUV is listed as 4WD it mean this SUV can operate in RWD and in AWD. They also call it Part-Time AWD. If the SUV is listed as AWD then this one will be driven in All Wheels all the time. It can be 90/10, 20/80, or 30/70 front/rear distribution but with the smart system the force can be re-distributed up to 50/50 front/rear or so.

there are some suv that operate as a true 4wd. part time awd would be something that you'll find in a mdx, highlander, mid-size suv, etc.
