Guys, girls with good graphic skill, please help us design a new vietcyber logo. :) Just do whatever you want, all we need is to have a word vietcyber on the logo and the background has a flying-eagle. The height=70, width=100-250.:)

ll4l The last design is nice but the letter for Vietcyber is too small I think. Can you try to integrate your dragon and the eagle I have, make the eagle as big as the one I have into the logo of heigh 100pixels. :)

man, this is just a logo. make it simple and meaning .
when you add ro^`ng on it , the eagle should replaced for a tiger or Phu+o+.ng Hoa`ng .
co`n eagle vo+'i ro^`ng kho^ng co' match vo+'i nhau .

i think con eagle and cobra are good together, but in this case is not good for VCB's logo

Agree! However, without those talented marketing people, nobody knows about them or what they mean and they probably no longer exist today. IMHO, logo doesn't have to be too simple, but should be simple enough to deliver the meaning of the mission of the web site. So, it wouldn't surprise me if VCB comes up with a mission statement too after the logo is designed.

For VCB logo with dragon, eagle and the earth some how blend together shouldn't be too complex, and the meaning probably not far from obvious!!! If the image is resize small, the V may stand out (depending on the design of the logo) to contain the earth or something ... thinking out loud here.

Again, your suggestions on how we better design the logo are more than welcome!

a few suggestions..

1. any images that takes longer than about 7 or 8 secs...
an average 56k would click the url off...
ttkh asked the image to be around 100kb - 150kb
thats way too big..
itll take forever for the image/web page to load..
so we should set the limit to be something smaller..about 20-30k would be okay...

2. to make a logo/banner stand out from every other sites out there..
it is better to create our own fonts...yes...because thats what people will be looking at...the site's name..

3. the logo/banner should have the same or similar colors to the site...
since people often visit this site to read and exchange info..
it is best to have subtle colors...a contrast in colors might work sometimes...but its still better to have subtle colors throughout..

4. theme
since vietcyber.net doesnt really have a theme...you guys should come up with one..
imo...this site is a technical site...with humor..
lets work on making the logo look advance and technical...<more lines and less of unrelated images>
the fonts could be somewhat upbeat..

1) with the logo size of 100x200 or 250 then we can compress the file to be around 15K :)
The 100K-150K is for the intro on flash. :)
2) I am not very good with graphic so that I can't really draw the fonts using graphic sw especially creating new style. :)
3) here (http://www.vietcyber.net/helpingfiles/homepage/) is basicly what the main page will look like, we are not complete yet, just drawing a structure. You don't have to design a logo to match the page, if you can design a really good logo then we can change the page to match the logo. :)
4) Vietcyber is not only famous for musics but famous for technology as well. I don't think there is any Viet site that can beat Vietcyber at that 2 categories. :) That is why there is a musical note on the back of the logo. Also Vietcyber are represent for the freedom of Vietnamese around the world that why the original logo Q came up with have an eagle. Now many suggested we should have a dragon as a symbol for Vietnamese so that why he asked to use both. :)

The reason i chose eagle is because it

1) Replace the "V" with the spreading of the wing,
2) It stand for US symbol and stand for freedom.
3) Having the eagle pick up the logo and fly make it look nice :)
4) The dragon is where it represent vietnam. Since this forum is already dedicated to vietnam so one eagle would not have much impact on that view.

that is my 2 cents, please feels free to voice your opinion because it matters.

1/ the "V" shape to replace for the "V" in Vietcyber is not so important. Because the dragon under good artist can make a better V :D (good artist is not me as you see my first dragon)

2/ The eagle symbolize for freedom ! However, it makes pepeople think that we're the U.S. ! Nothing wrong with the U.S. but I prefer more and more and more Vietnamese images for our site :D

5/ Since Mexico and US people already have their eagle on their flag, and I have never seen any flag have one of a kind Asian dragon (not the English version -with wings) . So, I strongly prefer the Asian dragon .

I like the idea cu?a CVC about the "ca-nh tre nho?". I think it is a good one. Going along with this idea, maybe each of the character in the "Vietcyber" can be made up by "ca-nh tre" or "la' tre"??? (thinking out loud here, again!)

Some comments about the Eagle: :-)

Dragon represents Vietnam.
Vietnam map represents Vietnam.
The Viet in Vietcyber represents Vietnam.

But when the world look at these, they may not know what they really mean.

The world, including Vietnamese, know about the meaning of Egle. In fact, the huy chu*o*ng of South Vietnam army contains the Eagle blended in the VN Flag (3 so.c ddo?) with the following words at the bottom "To^? Quo^'c", "Danh Du*", "Tra'ch Nhie^.m" (or Country, Honor, Duty). So, the eagle is not unfamiliar to the Vietnamese.

The Eagle symbolizes strength, wisdom, courage, freedom, etc... as mentioned in my previous post. When people look at the Eagle, those meanings of what the eagle symbolizes are almost obvious!

I also think that the vision of vietcyber should be ambitious and known to the world (like Microsoft, ATT, etc...), beyond the VN community. So, including the Eagle in the logo will further emphasize the following attributes of Vietcyber's vision:
1. Freedom
2. Respect
3. Honor
4. Ambition
5. Courage
6. the list will go on!!!

I am not sure if the EAgle represents US. Or, US uses the Eagle to symbolize freedom, strength, etc.. of the country. In either case, if we are pursuing freedom, strength, etc... for all of what the Eagle is symbolized for Vietcyber, including the symbol in the logo is not that all meaningless or useless though.

one can think of it as
1. the strength of the Eagle and Vietcyber is like "Ca'nh chim kho^ng mo?i"
2. the Eagle brings Vietcyber (again, as a symbol of freedom, courage, strength, ambition, honor, etc...) to more and more people around the world (again, being ambitious here!).I am not sure the vision of vietcyber is just around forums, though. As I read some of Quoc Trung posts, Vietcyber is also about the "technology", beyond just forums. It could be the place where cutting edge technlogy and other great ideas/inventions from many of our talented members from different professions (medical, pharmacy, business, technology, leadership, etc... ) will be born in the future.

Looks great! I like the simplicity of the design! Thank you TTNQ. It's debatable whether or not the dragon should be included or not though.... It may be too crowded or may be not, depeding on how it is designed ...

Also, I just want to throw out there another option (again, thinking out loud here!), and hope that our VCB artistic-talented members could help me with a mockup or rough design, etc... As always, your constructive (destructive comments are ok too!) comments/feedback are very welcome!

You all probably have seen Netscape, CNN logo, Yahoo logo, Google logo, etc... These logos use their special font for their name. For example, Netscape logo is "N" w/ some background; CNN logo is "CNN"; Yahoo logo is "Y!", Google is "G". These logos appear on your IE browser tool bar when you browse to that site. So, how about making vietcyber logo by emphasizing the font of "VCB" or just a "V".

1. The font of "V" or "VCB" will be made up of ca`nh tre or la' tre (going along with CVC's idea mentioned in the ealier post. Thank you CVC for this great idea!)

2. The "V" proabaly contain the earth inside with hi-nh nu*o*'c vietnam. I am not sure if it's too crowded here, but just an option.What do you think?

3. And/Or the "V" contains the Eagle looking like this Eagle, head up, eye opened, etc... symbolizing confidence, strength, etc...

Hope that gives you enough visualization about what I am trying to communicate. I wish I could have some graphic design software to provide more information visually, but I don't :-( So, if any of our VCB artists could help me with the design, that would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't think it's worth your time designing it, I can certainly understand! :-)

Thank you viet2k2 so much!!! It depicts somewhat I mentioned. Is there a way to have the V made up with the real la' tre or ca-nh tre? I am not sure about the dragons, though... It looks a little crowded for a logo, don't you think :-) But we can ask for other members' opinions/votes...

That looks good, DTB!!! I like the font, which is simple, unique and also made up of something looks like la' tre... :-) It depends on the majority of the VCB members though... In case my vote is counted, I think the wings of the Eagle can represent the V of vietcyber.... The font, which is made up of the "la' tre" is great!!! I love it!!! :-) ... Thank you so juch DTB for coming up with the unique design, especially the font made up with "la' tre"!!!

hehe... thank you for your compliment qcluu. :) That font I've used was UVN Bút lông 1. :) How's about the font color? and the letters "NETWORK" is that OK? or should I change to UVN But long 1 also?

just make an easy logo....choose a font and type Vietcyber Network...as easy as that...simple is better. don't scare pple by the logo and don't change the site/logo too much.

Cái vấn đề là vì Logo thì phải size nhỏ mà nếu muốn bỏ nhiều thứ vô quá thì nhìn sẽ loạn cào cào hết :D như các bạn đã thấy trên các hảng hay web sites khác Logo của họ thường thường là chỉ có chữ tên của họ mà thôi ngoài ra không có hình hò gì hết mà DTB nghĩ cũng đúng Logo là để cho khi ai mà nhìn vào thì biết hảng đó hay web site đó liền còn hình hò hay slogan thì bỏ trong banner thì được. DTB chỉ có nhiêu ý kiến đó thôi. :)
