Mỳ được approved cho 25 xấp để mua xe. Không biết là mỳ nên mua chiec SUV nào. Mỳ rất là thích Honda pilot, nhưng nó rất là mắt. Dealer has upper hand. They're not willing to negoniate from invoice price. High lander and 4runner is OK. Although 4runner is prefer.
So far, Ford (Excape at 22K or Eplorer XLT 25K) is on the top of the list.... Just because of their 0% and excellent incentive. What you do think guy? Ford or Japanese cars..???

TL,

No Ford IMHO. Depending on your need e.g. towing/off-roading capabilities...overall, the 4runner is still on my list. You can get a decent used one for that price. If I can get the deal I want on the 4runner today, I will PM you.

Good luck bro. BTW, the Honda Pilot is very very very nice too.

Why buy SUV? Join me in sport car instead :p j/k, Hilux is good but when you add in Supercharged is the best just like Conchimse did to his car.

Nam,
Yeah, 4runner is my choice too. Just because I can't find any good deal on that. Please let me know if you find anything.
R-34,
I don't have alot of knowledge on sport car. Although, I owned a 98 celica GT (I got to admit, it's pretty sweet to ride in that thing.) , then currently a camry. I think my taste is more luxury than a speed. I think I'm going to own a SUV just size..
Size.... does matter :D

What about the Nissan XTerra, seem like it's within your budget.

Go with 4Runner, it is sweet, you'll fall in love with it everyday. Try to get the late 3rd generation (99-02) sport version.

Hmm, I missed the deal on a 4runner yesterday...basically, the saleman agreed to offered me the price that I asked for after verbally fighting for nearly 3 hours. The next day I came with $$$ and paperwork, he raised the price...by $250. I was really pissed and decided to walk away...Now I am still shopping.

It was '97 4runner SR5 fully/extral loaded 4WD with 62K miles and I brough it down to $12600 with tax, license, fees, it came to be $14K even. The only thing I didn't like was the color...it was bright red...but what the heck, I am looking for a better one.

Wish me luck guys,

Nam

Good luck Nam... Sounds like a good deal, but don't you hate it when the d*** dealer taking advantage of the situation. $250 bucks is not a lot, but it's not too little. The point is that they swallowed their promised.
The Xterra looks really nice and cheap too. However, it's a bumpy drive on the regular commute. It's design mainly for off road.
RX 300 is nice. However, I don't like to buy it 4-5 years old. Brand new is way too spendy. :( Oh.. yeah.. about taxes and import duty tax too. That is why forein car maker having big trouble to compete with US car maker. Especially when the euro is stronger than dollar.
I guess I'll stretch a little and buy 2003 4Runner around 30K. Though, It's not fully loaded at this price. :( How about 30K for almost fully loaded version of Murano??????

Thanks Bro. R-34 and Tommy,

After owning a '98 Honda CR-V with 134K miles on it, I still like the car and decide to keep it; however, I need something that has better offroad and towing capability while provides a decent smooth ride on road. So after tons of research, the 4runner is my best pick!

Tommy, you may be able to end up around $32K out the door for a base version of '03 4runner. Hmm, the Murano, it doesn't look like a true SUV though...it's not rugged enough even thought it has lots of power.

I don't know for a lot of you but for me, I don't really want to lose a lot of $$ when buying a brand new vehicle; therefore, I tend to stick with used ones.

Good luck to you too bro. TommyLee

Ouchy.. ouchy... ouchy..... :( :( I can feel your pain... :(

That is the thing about buying a brand new car. Paying a premium price and then you will lose at least 3K as soon as you drive off the lot. then... taxes.. taxes..

A brand new redesign 4runner is around 32K + 8% for taxes - 3K for down payment = 32K . Payment will be 732.39 per month. OUCHY... Man... I am going broke..

I think I will go look for a use one instead....... :(... too bad.. the redesign 2003 is awsome...

And don't forget about the excise tax on new car. I paid 850 a year for my RX300.

If you have to pay that much I think you better off leasing it. 732 bucks monthy? this is about the same amount for house payment.

Is that right? I never heard of this law. What is this tax law apply to which year? 2002 and 2003 only?
Yeah... over $700 is too much. My house payment is $900. I have to think of another route then. So if I have a used one from a resident. I don't have to pay taxes right? But what about when I register the car, will the DMV will tax me based on current car's market value?

it's a local tax (thue^' ca^`u ddu+o+`ng) implied to any vehicles registered to the city. It's used to fix and pave the streets. It's anually.
