I've always wonder about this, is it better to put an auto tranny car into neutral or just leave it in Drive at a stop light? Or Will there be any harm in the future to the car if you put it into neutral at stop lights? becuz whenever I put it into neutral at a light I keep on thinking that it would be bad for the car since im working the transmission too much.

I do hit the breaks when I put it in Neutral. I just wanted to know if it'll harm the transmission if I keep on moving it back and forth at every stop lights

I would not do it if I were U. If U keep doing this, U would be nuttyboy :D
Reasons:
1) more work for trans
2) gas mileage goes down
3) more work for engine
If anyone knows how car works, they understand what I'm talking about :)

Coldwind is right! I would not recommend putting in neutral at stop lights...this will cause more tear and wear to the tranny! Just step your brake firmly...you will be fine.
