Lexus RX Concept with Hybrid Synergy Drive: The core hybrid technology for today and tomorrow. A version of the RX Concept with Hybrid Synergy Drive will also be at the Show. Building on the innovative base of the Toyota Prius, the world's first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid passenger car, Lexus is now introducing a significantly more advanced hybrid technology - Hybrid Synergy Drive - representing a sophisticated fusion of ecology and power. With significant control-system advances and higher operating voltage, it produces motor output 1.5 times greater than that of the previous system, meaning a smoother, more-responsive and dynamic hybrid experience. This Hybrid Synergy Drive concept means achieving a refined balance between minimal environmental impact and increased power. The production version of this vehicle will be available in approximately 12 months' time.
