Lexus has launched an updated version of its luxury LX470 four wheel drive at the 2003 Sydney Motor Show.
The new Lexus LX470 has Lexus Rear View Camera, state-of-the-art Bluetooth hands-free mobile telephone technology and Lexus' improved 03 satellite navigation system.
The feature upgrade also includes a new leather-bound steering wheel with telephone operation buttons, improved leather seat upholstery and new UV-reducing window glass.
The new Lexus LX470 will be available from dealers in mid-November at a recommended retail price of $118,500, plus dealer delivery and statutory charges.
The recently launched Lexus RX330 Sports Luxury model was the first vehicle in Australia with a rear view camera fitted as standard equipment.
The rear view camera in the updated LX470 is located in the tailgate and operates when reverse gear is selected. It has a wide-angle lens, to provide a wide arc of vision at the rear of the vehicle.
The rear view camera is linked to the 7-inch Electro Multi-Vision (EMV) satellite screen in the dashboard.
LX470's EMV screen also provides touch-screen control for the Bluetooth telephone functions, satellite navigation system, audio system, climate control system, trip computer and Lexus information menu.
The Bluetooth wireless data system allows compatible telephones to be controlled via EMV and/or steering wheel controls to provide automatic hands-free calling.
Up to four mobile telephones can be registered with the Bluetooth system.
Lexus' new navigation system offers choice of screen background colours, more powerful functions for showing street names and compass directions, icon and brand name searches, and setting of destination via latitude and longitude reference points.
LX470's new leather upholstery has a more natural feel and enhances the luxurious appeal of the vehicle's interior.
Changes to Lexus LX470's window glass include: new green glass in place of the previous bronzed windows; green UV-reducing glass for the front door windows; and dark grey reinforced glass in place of the previous privacy glass.
