Honda Motor Co. said Friday it has developed what it calls the world's first electronically controlled fuel injection system for use in four-stroke, 50 cc engines.
The new system, called PGM-FI, will be available on a new motor scooter model in Japan next spring, the automaker said in a press release.

It offers smooth ignition with improved fuel economy and cleaner emissions, it said.
