hello everyone, I just brought an X5 last week and I did not upgrade to premium Sound System. The original sound system from BMW is suck when compared to Lexus regular system. I regreted now since I did not add this option at the time I'm bargain with the saleman. I thougth I would have save couple hundreds if i had this system install by outside. Althought I heards some people told me that i should have the dealer install it because outside installer doesn't know the complexity of wires of BMW product. Today BMW cars are very high-tech equipments, I feared the installer might cut the wrong wires that might screw up my warranty of this car. Does anyone has the suggestion of this issue!? Thank you :super:

I believed that If U bring it back and tell them U want an upgrades I believed they could do that. However, I believed that if you bring to an experience Radio shop they could put an excellent without damaging your wiring, But once U switch the systems anything that happen to your car that involved Radio system they will not responsible for it.

BMW carries Harmon Kardon, but probadly the low end system one; because the sound it produces is terrible. If it was me, I would install new system by a well known auto sound place. Most shop should be able to install one without problem. Lexus, on the other hand, has a very good Mark Levinston system. Depend on how much you want to spend, it may be better of with whatever you have now.
