Will polishing cream ruin the aluminum coating on the wheel?

Just purchased Mother's brand polishing compound for the purpose of getting the wheel to shine and also to remove the rust. I haven't apply it to the wheels yet worrying that it will damage the aluminum coating on the wheels. Any thoughts and helps will be really appreciated.

BTW, I have a 98' Honda EX.

I don't know about aluminum coating, but for sure that compound remove rust and other off my chrome wheel

I don't think it will.. it's not suppose to be abrasive and besides, Al coating is quite inert :)
