you know on top of engine block there is a hose going to the air intake, just wonder that is it alrite if i replace the hose with air breather? ... will it screw up the engine?? thanks

Nope...you can't do that otherwise you are violating the emission law. If I am not mistaken, what you are refering to is the PCV valve!

It's a big no no ok!

That's the breather hose; in simple language, this hose allows the top part of the engine to breath or to have normal pressure by letting the air coming in from the air intake.

It is not the PCV valve as Nam said.

If you are replacing your restricted factory air intake with the aftermarket short-ram or cold air intake, you can attach a tiny air breather filter to this hose and just cap off the hole on your intake pipe. This will keep your intake clean from oil that may come from the top engine case. Your engine will not be screwed up. In fact, doing this is even better than using the supplied hose and attaching it to your air intake.
