that's a little too high, I think U could negociated to be down couple more thousands. If U could get out of the doors for 18K then it would be right.

that's a good price, EX usually start at 20,000, if where you live don't have a lot of Honda dealer then price usually higher than down here in OC, California. The more dealer the more good deal you get, competition.

That's too much for a 03 Honda even though it's EX. Beside that's not even V6, it's only I4

too high. It's a 4 cyclinder not a v6..no leather...

Firstly, it is I4 and NOT V4. Similarly, it is V6, and NOT I6.
Secondly, please indicates the final price of the car itself, please do not including the car's tax, and all paperworks. This type of money varies state by state, some states have 6% tax, some others have 5%, so it will be different. We just want to negotiate the price of the car.
Thirdly, for this particular car, you MUST get the price below the INVOICE.
I don't know how much but 1K, 2K or even 3K is reasonable.

i'd say it's a decent out of the door price. I got my i4 lx for $18k out the door, but that was last summer.

[QUOTE=seanguyen]Firstly, it is I4 and NOT V4. Similarly, it is V6, and NOT I6./QUOTE]

First statement is TRUE but the second one is not always. There are I6 engines such as the famous Supras, Lexus GS300, most 3 and 5 series Bimmers got I6.

I think that would be a good price for out-the-door with an 03 EX. I don't think you can get a Brand New (>300 miles) 03 EX for under 18k.

TMV from Edmunds for the EX coupe: $16,906, and EX sedan: $16,640 (tax & destination charge are not included)

Firstly, the price is for used car (even though it's 2003)
Secondly, it is the Private Party's price, not Dealer's price.
Dealer's price is still somewhere above 18K

Depend where you find it & your negociation skills.

The dealer (Bernadi in Natick, MA) that I bought my 04 V6 Accord back in November 03, offer me an new 03 EX (fully loaded: leather, sunroof...you name it) for around $17K, but I didn't take it. Need an V6 baby. Hungry for power.

That EX had about 95 miles on the odometer.
My 04 accord had about 46 miles.

There is no such thing as 0 mile car.

Agreed
17K for 95 miles 03 EX, which considers to be a brand new car, is a very good deal.
May I ask how much you pay for your new car (based price only)?

my accord i was about to buy has over 400 miles on it,the dealer said that because there were some peoples test drive ,trade from other dealer, plus it is 03 so support to have more miles than 04,My brother said that's bullshit...we dont care the miles, but asked him go down below $20700 and he said yes, but only $300 so the final price is $20400(added tax...) out the door..My friends said it still expensive...so i still looking around for accord ex coupe...

What do you mean? The car???
Firstly, it's what reques2 said, not me
Secondly, reques2 has lived in Boston area, not MN
and I believe what reques2 has said.
For EX, 03, sedan, cloth seat, auto, no curtain airbag, and more important it has 400 miles, it definitely must below the invoice price at least 2K, which is about 18K. And depend on your negotiation skill like reques2 said, you can bring it down to 17K.

Oh, one more time, I don't know why people so favor to include the tax and paperwork type of money but that's not correct at least it causes confusion.
Same thing as when you say you make $100,000/year, that gross income, not what you take in, samething when you say that merchandise cost $50, that 50 bucks is the based price, not including the tax.
So again with the car, just list the based price, the price of the car only, do not include the tax and paperwork.

I paid $21,250 for 04 LX V6 (without navigator)

The EX model should have leather seat, sunroof, alloy wheel...

seanguyen

Don't you think it was a little high?

seanguyen
03-10-2004, 11:34 AM
$22030 including Destination Charge is Edmunds.com TMV
$21458 including Destination Charge is Invoice.
I think $21250 is reasonable.

How is it so far? Enjoy it? Any complaints? Suggestions?

It's very good, no complain so far. This car include many standard features that you have pay for in previous model (1998-2002) such as Traction Control, Alarm, remote door lock, remote open trunk....
Suggestion? if the dealer try to sell you accessories like alarm, foglights, spoilers, alloy wheels, audio system... don't buy them. They will charge you very high price and you have to pay to put them on.
Buy from aftermarket sources. They are cheaper & better. You can even install them by yourself.

A quick question for you resque2,
The door lock switch, is it illuminated in the dark?

resque2
03-12-2004, 02:01 PM
Hi Sean, I didn't notice that, but I don't think it illuminates at all. However, 1 feature that I like is that the inside dome light will light up when you use remote door unlock. This feature was on the EX before but now they added to LX as well.

Thanks for response, resque2
I got the same one too (2003 though)
Here's some complains
1. That power door lock is not illuminated so, at night, instead of press it down to unlock the door, I have to hunt it around and 9 out 10, I hit the power window button
I think this should be illuminated.
2. Audio control on the sterring wheel, nice, huh, unfortunately, cannot be used at night, I have switched CD-FM-AM all over instead of volume up/down or seeking different track or channel.
I think this should be illuminated.
3. I highly recommend Honda built circuitry that automatically unlock when engine turned off or key has removed from the ignition.
4. Do you hear "clank" noise when going forward after switch gear from R to D? I hear that noise, very little, but it does exist.
5. Wind noise is kind of high, even worse than my Prelude 89. I think I should bring it back for diagnostics.

:D

Number 4: "clank" noise problem. Yes I hear it, but not when shifting. I hear it when the car start to roll away about 10 yards away from the place you park b4. Don't know what it is. I just ignore it. hehe

Audio control. I don't use it anymore since I already install an aftermarket mp3 player.

Doesn't your car has remote power door lock?

seanguyen
03-12-2004, 03:21 PM
Oh yea, that's what I talked about, the noise heard not when shifting but when go forward. But I noticed that if I started out from D gear, I didn't hear the noise, but when I backed up then went forward.
I'm not quite understand you last question? I have anything that comes with the remoted key. What I try to say is when I stop and get out of the car, I have to manually unlock to door (other car the door unlocks automatically when turn off) and because it's at night and it does not illuminate so I cannot see.

seanguyen
03-12-2004, 03:23 PM
Or you mean using the unlock function on the remote when you are inside the car?

resque2
03-13-2004, 10:19 PM
No, I mean use the remote unlock to unlock the car from outside instead of manually using the key.

When you are inside the car, as soon as you turn off the engine & withdraw the key, the dome like suppose to light up right away, and it stay on for about 30 seconds. It's nice to have illumination, but the dome light is more than enough to see around.

seanguyen
03-14-2004, 10:06 AM
Agree, talking from the inside, what going on if I want to unlock the door so other people can get in from other side without tuning off the engire and remove the key.
I have to "mo`" that switch or have to turn the light on

Sean, I think it's perfectly normal due to the shift of the brake pads when you change the direction.

Hope this gives you a peace of mind.

You may be right! My CR-V does that, but I haven't actually observed the 4Runner and see if it does the same thing.

Well, I can't compare the CR-V with yours since it now has 155K miles and I have gone through 2 set of OEM brake pads.

Hehhehhehe :)
