Two GateKeepers stand in front of 2 gates. One gate leads to Heaven; the other gate leads to Hell. One of two GateKeepers always answers the truth to any yes/no question which is asked of him. The other always lies when asked any yes/no question. By asking one yes/no question, can you determine the road to Heaven?

If the answer is Yes, the other gate is Heaven
If the answer is No, take that gate

The trick is to force the 2 gatekeepers to give the same answer so you can deduct the right solution.

This is the question you will ask
Let me explain this:
1.) If the gatekeeper is a truthteller and if the gate is the right way to Heaven then the the truthteller's answer will be "NO". Why? because the truthteller knows his friend is a liar, and of course the liar will say "NO" in this case. And because you ask the truthteller so he will say "NO". Remember you want to know the other gatekeeper answer from his friend.

2.) If the gatekeeper is a truthteller and if the gate is NOT the right way to Heaven then the the truthteller's answer will be "YES". Why? because the truthteller knows his friend is a liar, and of course the liar will say "YES" in this case. And because you ask the truthteller so he will say "YES"

3.) If the gatekeeper is a liar and if the gate is the right way to Heaven then the the liar's answer will be "NO". Why? because the liar know his friend is a truthteller, and of course the truthteller will say "YES" in this case. And because you ask the liar so he will say "NO". He lies to the answer of his friend

4.) If the gatekeeper is a liar and if the gate is NOT the right way to Heaven then the the liar's answer will be "YES". Why? because the liar know his friend is a truthteller, and of course the truthteller will say "NO" in this case. And because you ask the liar so he will say "YES". He lies to the answer of his friend

From 1 & 3 regardless who you are asking, the answer is "NO" you pick that gate, because that is the right gate

From 2 & 4 regardless who you are asking, the answer is "YES" you pick the other gate.

in summary, if you get a "NO" pick that gate
if you get a "YES" pick the other gate
