Dude ...
I have the 1996 A4 2.8 Quattro bought it new in 1995 and is still running great it has 130,000 miles on it now and rolling... It's great on snow and ice (i use to lived in the east coast and midwest). It's also great without ice and snow in California ... I just bought a TT for my wife and she love it too.
Test drive it and you'll love it .... oh, and dont buy an Audi without Quattro ....

hey! thanks for a quick response, it gave me more confidence, maybe I'll give German's car one more chance (had a 2.3 benz before, very disappointed).

oh dude...how can you say Audi is a good car...I work for an Audi dealership here in the east coast...they are JUNK !!!...too expensive to maintain, they all leak oil like crazy, and trust me...you don't want to own an Audi after the warranty time run out...you will pay BIG BUCK to fix them car !!!

I don't want to scare you...just telling you what I have experienced...Audi car have so many recall it's not even funny...I have never see any "luxury" car that require more fixing than Audi...
Do some more research on Audi. Personally and from my experience, it's not as realiable compare to Japanese cars. Transmission proplems are well known in some models. MSN autos, Edmunds.com, consumer reports, internet forums....are among good places for your reliability research.
Overall, Audi is not another luxury branch of VW.
Good luck,
Nam

Audi is not for every one. It's not for students or low pay workers (sorry about this statement) for sure ... It's kindda expensive when come to maintanance ... It's sporty and classy built-in to the car that make other car drivers respect and glance at it with a smile, that is why Audi is different and special.
You know why lots of people driving a Camry or an Accord right? (read my word carefull). But only few people drive Audi.
** I am not argue or convince or anything ... but tell from my experience.
