Hey ACE, I am ready to buy an economical car, and Camry came to mind. What would be a good price exclude tax, tag, title for a 2005 standard Camry manual?
2005 standard Camry manualis MSRP $18,560, Invoice $17,371, internet price $15,688.
2005 LE Camry auto is MSRP $20,490, invoice $18,766, inernet price $17,081.
The two cars are very similar except manual vs. auto, and LE model has remote door lock/unlock.
My sister bought a 2004 LE Camry in June for $15,670 excluding tax, tag, and title. She paid out-the-door (OTD) about $17000 in Orange County Cali. I wonder why price wise were so much different between west and east coast.
P.S.: I test drived the 2005 Corolla manual. It is a little stiffer and more noisy than the Camry. But cheaper at $13000 for a 2005 LE Corolla manual.
I live in Maryland by the way.

bro sung35,
My sister just bought a Camry LE 2005 ( with side curtain airbags and Z1 packages ) ... $17,500. She takes 1.9% that's why they add $500 rebate to her price and added up the totals is $18,000 and the total walk out the door for everything included tax is $18,900. They cheated on her for the $500 rebate, so make sure you negotiate with them about this.

Thanks sis. I have agreed with a 2005 Standard Camry manual (base model, which is one lower than LE) for $15500. I started at $15200 and was surprised when they agreed at $15500. This price included $500 incentive and $400 recently gradulate within 2 years, excluded 5% tax + $208 title and tag + 100 processing fee.
MHTT, that Solara looks very stunning, especially convertable one. If you want, I can find out the deal for you at Cherry Hill, MD Toyota. Tell me more specific about the car and option you want, and I can try to convince them to give me their best deal. I have to go there tomorrow finishing up the "paper work".

something that I would like to mention:
- Camry LE doesn't have ABS (as standard)...So if you live where it rains or snow, then you should reconsider this.
The Camry is mid-size family car (for the price at least 17K), not economical car at all. You should set your target price. If you have little extra money, then should go for 2004 V6 Camry since it has better engine (outlast the 4 cylinder) and ABS is standard. The cost for upgrade is between $1500-$2000. The gas milege is not bad, compare with 4 cylinder engine.
All cars prices.

Steveh, thank for your concern. All 2005 Camry has ABS standard, even on the standard model. Differences between standard and LE model are LE has multi-directional electronic driver seat, keyless entry, and side view mirrors color match with the rest of the car.
He he, for fun, I already has a GS400. For snow, I already have a Ford Explorer. I want a car that is low in gas milage, reliable, and comfortable, to drive to work everyday.
