What OS are you using? You can use Standby/Hibernate feature of Windows 2k or XP. Go into your Display Properties where you set screensaver and such. It has button called Power. You can set time out in there.

I'm not aware of auto ON method but for shutting down the comp, you can use any small shutdown utility where you can input the time to shutdown.

As for ON, I can only think of wake on LAN.

I don't think there's a way to set a time to turn on computer automatically but there's a way you could set a time to turn off your computer automatically.

I use 'Scheduled Tasks' to turn on my laptop from hibernate mode. I created a winamp task for my alarm, and check the setting to wake up computer to run the task.

For automatic shutdown/hibernate/standby, just download some software.

Just go to HomeDepot and buy a $4 timer, set the time to turn on your pc and plug your power line into this timer.

work only if your pc motherboard bios support "AC power on".

It's basicaly what i just said.
On windows XP pro goto:
Start > all programs > accessories > system tools > Scheduled Tasks > add tasks

The tasks being play what_ever.mp3 at 12am or open outlook express at 12:03am or whatever you want to do.
On mine, i created a task to open winamp at a certain time( there is an option to wake up computer to perform the task). I also have a winamp alarm clock( to play winamp after what time the computer takes to boot). :typing:

Once your comp is off, the power is out --> there's no way to turn it back on automaticly by software (since no software can be running at that time) ---> keep in mind this fact!!!
