well i guess you have to show up in court. I live in VA, but i never got a tickets. My friend got a ticket for reckless driving and he got 55 hours of community service and pay a find of $100.

If this is your 1st offense, they may reduce the charge. Otherwise, you either get a lawyer, pay about $300.00 or so and get that taken care of. Or show up in court. If the court doesn't drop the reckless driving charge, you'll lose your license the next time you get caught w/ another reckless driving charge.

you shouldn't drive that fast man. I think you should get the lawyer to deal with the judge for you. My friend got a speeding ticket, 100+ on 65, the judge give me hella community service hour and suspend his liscense for 3 months, because he's endanger others people live on an empty road when there's no one around. Judges are pretty tough with reckless driving. Good Luck.

This is an valuable advice that I got from one of the officer. This advice is working very well. Please follow my suggestion closely. In order to have the court drops or reduces to a lesser charge, you have to take a driver improvement class in VA. When you're showing in court, you should told the judge that you are guilty but you had taken a driver improvement course. In the addition, you have show the drivign improvement certificate to the judge.

You could also explain to the court that you are new in the area and you are not familiar with the roads around here. Since you had taken the class, you become aware with the traffic laws. You have to pay close attention on the speed limits.
If you don't take the class then you have to hire an a lawyer. The outcome won't be that great if the cop had you locked on radar. Make sure bringing your Ca' driving record prior to your court appearance. If you're record is clean then you might have a good case. If it's bad.. then you're screwed...

Good luck

hahahah.......... i went to court twice for speeding, but i never got any charge. u got to use some tricks on the court. after u got full over for few weeks, they will send u a letter that tell u wat time and date to be on court. on that day, when u come to the court, don't be on time. wait for about 15min pass the required time. after 15min, u find something to do that make u sweat (the more u sweat, the better it is), like running. then u go inside the court, by that time the cops is already left, make up some reasons that u late. for example, the taxi got an accident, and u were on that taxi. but you were about 1 mile from the court so u had to run to the court. that was why u'r late. the judge will 90% believe u when he see u'r sweating. then he will ask u, whether u are guilty or not. just say "not guilty". then the judge will assign another day for u and the cop to come talk about ur speeding. 80% the cop won't come, because he can't take off during duty. this time, make sure u make it on time, little early is better. if the cop won't show up on that date, just say "u'r not guilty". the judge will give ur liscence back and u don't have to pay anything. :xmasred: ...... work for me

if u live in big city, this trick is more likely working than u live in suburb. if u live in suburb, i suggest that u plead guilty.

Shooot... I just got a ticket over speed limit in Lanagan, MO. I was driving down the moutain and the speed was 55 MPH but at the bottom of the moutain it change to 35 MPH, so I was slowing down and then there is a cop hide behind the house come out and pull me over for speeding 49 MPH on 35 posted speed limit. Anyway the fine is $92 for 11-15 mph over speed limit, as I looked at the paper violator's copy he gave me, it said the Court Date is 1/20/04 <--- I think the cop mistake on writting the year instead of year 2005. What do you guys think about my case? the cop told me about the court if I show up the points will be less something is that true?

Man.. it been 5 years from the day I got my driver licend I never have any ticket or accident before and now I got my first speeding ticket.... dam it
