97 accord ex maintenance required

i have a 97 accord ex, what does it mean when the light of the Maintenance Required is on? i mean the color use to b green but now its red. what does it mean by dat? and i jus did oil change like last week. thx

That Maintenance Required indicator changes from green to yellow, not red. Take your key and press into the little hole next to it to reset it back to green. You will have to do this every 5000 miles or so. It's just like a little reminder timer. Or you can just ignore it completely because it's not doing anything to your car.

It remind you to cahnge oild that's all. When you change your oil, just reset @ the same time :) :)

how about Accord 2000 and up with no little hold to push it. how do I turn it off?

Hi SauRieng,

1. Turn the ignition OFF
2. Press and hold the odometer-reset button with your left hand
3. Turn the ignition to the ON position with your right hand, but don't start your car
4. The oil change reminding light should go out in about 15 seconds

You'll have about 7500 miles to do this again.
