Won't work as effectively as it used to. Referral is the best way to get a job now. Good luck Billy.

There are still jobs available but HR are humans and humans tend to be lazy unless they have to work. HR's job is to filter all the resumes received and forward the ones they think viable to the corresponding hiring dept.
The problem is that after a while, HRs get bored and no longer do what they're supposed to. That's why a lot of good candidates never get the chance to even have an interview as their resumes were never forwarded.
However, if you know someone even if it's realllllllllly remote, that person may be able to bypass HRs and hand your resume to the hiring manager thus increasing your chance of getting a job.
In summary, spend less time sending out your resume via the net. Spend more time w/ the people around you. Your connection could be your mom's dad's uncle Bob's niece's friends. I know it's hard. Hope you have a job soon. Best wishes.

Thank you!
But why is it all IT jobs now relocate to India? So it is hopeless if you are looking for IT positions here.

First of all,
Not all IT jobs relocated to India. Just a lot but not all.
Why? Couple simple reasons:
1) Indian programmer got paid about 1/10 of American programmer.
2) They require less training cost as well. Do U guys know that Indian learned computer since 1st grade. Young Indian know about computer just like we know math in VN.

Second,
There are still some IT jobs here but
1) These jobs require lot of experiences (5 yrs +)
2) Hands-on jobs (networking, ...)
3) Still some entry level jobs but U need to have some connections to get these jobs.

don't loose your hope so quickly. There are still many IT jobs out there for the taking, the only IT jobs lost to India are those that do not required constant customer interaction. If you have any programming experience on your own you can try to do contract works to get some experiences under your belt. And yes "referal" is still the best.

Best of luck to you billy and always look on the brighter side of things. :good:

Thank you for the advice. But look like I will have a tough time looking for a job. I don't have any programming experience or know any coding. I'm looking more like a QA/QC software testing.

Me, too. I went to job fairs but most of them require security clearance or at least US citizen for networking job. My status is permanent residence. I am willing to accept low pay to get entry level. Still no luck. I locate in VA. Has Anyone idea about this ?
