Does anyone know about learning mode in new model car. please shed some light?
In fact, I own a Camry 4 cyl, model 2005. While driving at stable speed at 60kmh zone, on down hill road, I just release /soften the gas pedal then I felt like the car in a paused/hesitated mode. It acted like changing lower gear or breaking .
I took the car to the dealer and asked for advice and troubleshooting. They looked at National Database to search out such as similar case to mine. Toyota mechanic took a test drive then suggest get the IC chip RESET. This makes sense to me if the car needs to learn your style of driving then. How the Car industry let it happen whenever new car's break-in period maintains as driving style for that vehicle. From my experience, new model car should be brought back to the dealer for RESETTING after break-in .
Is any knowlege and experience about this LEARNING MODE ?
Thank you for your sharing experience.

i think that is normal when you go downhill. you have an automatic shift, right?
I have a 2004 Camry. and there is no such thing as learning mode for a Camry. This car is so cheap, maybe this option exists in a more expensive car.

In a Lexus GS, maybe. Even a Lexus RX doesn't have this learning mode, I know this for sure because my sister has one.
but in a Camry? I don't think so, it is not even in the Lexus ES. Also, This is my first time hearing about "reset" your new car. Break-in makes sense, but "reset" it?
Learning moe in camry ??? = I don't think so

I have same thought too, cis.
RESETTING "Learning Mode" chip was only thing he did to my car .
He did connect a small meter/computer box to have my car RESET . He showed me the meter with message Reset Finished or completed.
For now on, Break-In period was over, I can force the car a bit more to make the car to learn new driving style : go go go :

reset the ECU (disconnect the battery cables for 15 mins or so), put some high octane gas and go easy on your gas pedal. Do that for a few thousand miles. (just like when you first try to break-in for new car)

put higher octane gas in your car only waste money. for camry v4, it uses 87 regular gas. I read a few articles in AAA magazine about this. many people think that put in expensive gas is better for the car, but it's wrong. Just put in whatever type that your car is required is good. If you can prove me wrong, please pt out an article.

Camry 4 cyl is supposed to use 87 regular gas. However, my car , SE model is suggested with higher octan gas.
