if it's ur first one u can take it and take trafic class. to fight it you'll need to do some reasearch, although it's kindda hard to fight, just pull up the info of the radar maitanance to see if it's good enough to shot u.

all of them are pretty helpful. just a thought though, the law might have change, it used to be that when u go to trafic court u get 3 type of plead
guilty
not guilty
guilty with an explaination
now it's just
guilty <<<< get discount
not guilty <<<< fight it
the discount is pretty deep, mine was 350 and i got reduce to 100, people that drink on the beach got 285 and got reduced to 70.... but if u plead guilty it'll stay on the record.

if it's city cop, then your chance to win is pretty slim. Most of cities require the cop to show up at the court, because that's their income. You have better chance if it's highway patrol.
Anyway, since this is your first ticket in last 2 yrs, then you could attend traffic court. The insurance companies will NOT see that ticket, only DMV can see it. But you have to pay the fine+traffic school fees :(

state nowadays runs out ofbudget and they are very strict when pull you over, so the process is hard to fight also.

1. Request to change the court date (choose the Officer day off, vacation, it should show up in the back of the citation) Most of the Officer do not show up at court during their day off
2. If they do: at the court, ask the Officer when is the last time the speed gun recalibrate (80% do not have up to date, if it more than 6 mos, it not admittable)
3. Try to have a puppy face but show some sign that you've done your homework ;)
You don't try, you wouldn't know rite ?:35laugh:

I got pulled over for 65 on a 45 construction zone on a raining day....the pig was like "you're supposed to receive a $300 fine, but since you cooporated with me, I reduce it to $100"....duh....I asked for a warning instead, but the guy was like no.....wth.....I wish I could pay more and not increase my point because the point system here in MA is so dammmn stupid....it will not drop after 4 years straight of good behaving....what a g&(*& state!!!

troi oi! u go 45 on a 35? This is no chance since u r in the neighberhood area! if this is fast lane on the high \way then it's ok..but in the city...u are dead! if it's in Mass. u get 2 point added on ur insurance haha...that'll take u at least 3 yrs to get the points deducted from your insurance!

How is about 63 mph on a 35 mph zone? I went to court and the judge reduced to no point. Only to pay the fine. It is a little tough to give someone a ticket for going over 10 mph limit. Anyway, go to court and see what the judge decision. It might work in your favor.

Sacodi is right. Just change the court date on the day that the officier has a day off . My friend won 2 times cause the officier didnt show up in the court :-)
Try to make it if you can.

I remember when I was in traffic school, the instructor asked us who think police officer have quota each month, me and a few guys were raising our hand, so the instructor pointed at me and asked, why did you think they have quota, my answer was if you guys don't have the quota then most of the time, you guys will sit in mc donal or donut shop :D :D

don't count on day off, most of us are thinking of special case... officer get pay to go to court whether they win or not 200-300 bucks. if i was a cop and i can get 200 bucks on my day off just to show up i'll do it...
cazzdio did u read any of the link i've posted, i've done that much for u, it's ur turn to do the work...
do not ever count on the officer not show up, they will, trust me. my friend had 3 trafic ticket, most of the time out of 5 cop that suppose to show up, 1 doesn't for special reason not because it's his day off (attending confrence, academy, or he has changed worked location, he needs a valid reason, not just because he doesn't feel like it)...
i went to court a few days ago too, 5 people tried to fight it, 5 cops showed up "prepare" with diagram, note, documents of the specific case. do u have anything to help u win the case? evidence? if not then you might as well pay the full fine.
What i'm trying to tell u is that if u wanna pay and do trafic school, then do it that way, attending trafic school is a privilage, not an option, u beg the judge to let u do it so it won't go on the record, if u decides to fight and loose u will not have this option.... and if u wanna fight it, do it right, don't count on something that's not gonna happen.
What i would do right now is wait till the court date, dress normal (don't be too formal)... go in there, sitdown see if the judge is cool, some of them are really easy, see if he's easy going on other people, if he does then plead guilty, explain the situation and ask to go to traifc school, if he's a toughfy then plead not guilty and prepare to fight. and plz read the link i've posted, i've been through it before, did my research and i've been there before, i'm not speaking on speculation.
You do know that u can fight ur case without going to court....
You go to court and the officer shows up, you have a 15% chance of winning (just a guess but it's close) most people when they see their officer shows up they changes their plead to guilty and beg for reduction/trafic school like they've never beg before.

Coleus kho^ng biet where you live but city muh Coleus ddang o ddo' thi Coleus always do this for all tickets cu?a Coleus or friends or families members.
Take the ticket down to the traffic court on the date of the ticket. At the traffic court, first thi` minh no'i voi clerk ra(`ng minh muon ga(.p first hearing officer thay vi` set the court date, and then the clerk will tell us to wait for our name get called by first hearing officer. Vo ga(p o^ng na`y thi` noi voi o^?ng tho^ng ca?m and reduce the fine or take away the demerit point. He will normllay reduce the ticket price or take away demerit point. How does he do that?
1) To take the demerit point away, he will switch the ticket to radar ticket
2) to reduce the fine, he will lower the speed.
Anyway, he will give you a choice and you can pick which choice is best for you.
Try it and see if there is such option available in your state. In the end, all they want is your money, not to take care of insurance company. They will reduce the fine or take away demerit points for you because they will save money and time by doing this.
If you still want to take your case to the court then read some book and prepare for the fight :-)
Good luck !!!!
