View Full Version : $15 of food per day per Katrina victim
I dont really get this number, but it was shown at the local Safeway grocery on the Red Cross Katrina donation ads. $15/day is a lot of money. average family will be $75/day, that's $2250 a month on food. Give me your opinion.

1 big mc combo is about 5$, so $15 per day is not that much

It's tax payers money, so if they can live with $10/day, let them be, otherwise, we probably have nothing when we'd retire :encore:

For me, I only need 2 kids meals per day....3 regular meals is for extra-large people :D
Kid meal, 3 bucks per meal, ($15-6), I'll be saving 9 bucks per day, times that to 30 days then I'll got around $270 to go shopping, not bad :smoking:
Our government is very thoughtful, they always do things in a big way.

Lots of local shops, coporations are making money off Katrina victims. they should provide them food with what they pay, not making profits off them. Think about it, loaf of bread cost $1.00, a pound of meat cost about $3, the most a person can eat is about $6 off food, include drinking water, which cost $1.29/gal at local market. $15 for prepared meals, which mean those people are not helping those victims at all!!!! Heck, if they living with me, I'll feed them less then $3/day with plenty of nutritous food.
