Description:
The DCAPES Configuration Management team has a need for a CM Specialist. The right person will possess a winning attitude with an aptitude and an interest to join a software development project. The candidate needs to have 2-4 years of experience with the IBM/Rational product ClearQuest. This is a great opportunity for the right person to be groomed and trained in the discipline of Configuration Management. Duties to include: be a part of a team that manages the defect tracking system with ongoing updates and enhancements, actively participates in the Configuration Review Board (CRB), creating CDs to ship to the customer, managing the physical CM library, prepare and ship all packages to the customer as needed, be able to initiate and help with writing CM processes and procedures, manage the document management system in Visual Source Safe (VSS). Responsible for document management which includes: labeling, security, and good organizational directory structure practices for the project. This person will also be exposed to the entire CM cycle from start to finish. Putting learned CM practices to immediate use. Strong candidates will be able to write and modify scripts in either ant, ksh &/or perl scripting languages. As well as having used ClearCase & VSS continuously for at least 1 yr.
Needed skills:
ClearQuest or ClearCase, ant build tool, Unix ksh scripting, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, ability to take direction, detailed oriented, a self-starter, the ability to work with minimal supervision, possess great organizational skills, ability to follow processes and procedures, technical aptitude to be hands-on, have a winning attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Desired skills but not necessary:
Microsoft Visual Source Safe, perl scripting languages, & make file creation.
Will also review candidates that are strong in PVCS that have strong "ant" scripting & build management skills.
Clearance: Secret or the ability to pass for a secret clearance background investigation.
