Please share your experience about getting Winter tires for brand new car.
I get used driving with two sets of tires, all season & winter tires for old car.
Recently, after a long trip to another city on heavy rainy day and bad condition, I am thinking to get a set of winter tire for new car. Anyone knows much about winter tire, please share your tips. Thank you.

Yeah! That's what I think too. Using snow tires in the winter, then all season tires will be lasting longer for at least 3, 4 more years. Any brand winter tire is your favorite, bro ?

isn't it the same as saving the wear and tear from the all season tires when they should've been used during winter? so it's not because the car uses the snow tires during winter that allows the all seasons to last longer, but it's lack of use of the all-season tires that allows it to last longer?

All seasons tire are made for Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter, but unlike Snow tire which is MADE for ONE reason to be used in snow and ice stiuation and will outperform the All-Season tire in that events.
Do Bridgestone Blizzak Tires Live up to Their Reputation?
The Tire Rack has been the largest single source of Blizzak studless winter tires in the United States since their introduction in 1993. We have tested them on ice and in the snow, as well as driven on them through South Bend, Indiana's "mild" and "wild" winters. We have found that no All-Season tire or other winter tire has matched the Blizzak's confidence-inspiring combination of deep snow, packed snow and ice traction.

Agree on 1 condition: Outperform the All Season tire in the Winter IF YOU LIVE IN THE "FREQUENT" SNOW STATES like Canada. And ... you drive a warehouse truck.
Otherwise, you waste your money! Here's what I figure:
1) In winter, most up northern states have snow during the winter, but not all season long. Maybe few times a month, a few inches each would not trouble you.
2) You own 2 sets of tire because you don't want to ride on the same Snow Tire in the summer. It's a hassle to change tires and it costs money. At least $300 or more for 4 Bridgestone Snow Tire + cost of maintainance.
3) Most today cars and SUVs are front wheel drive. So, driving in snow is not a problem anymore.
If you think you're caustious driver, you don't need Snow Tire event with 24 inche snow storm. You don't drive fast in snow anyway. Besides you want to save time and money, buy All-Season tires.

thanks for your thoughts, alann .
This morning , snow was high enough for other cars running like many Drunk drivers on
the road. I hate spending money for insurance that 's why I get this extra winter tires. Through my own experience, I already flied to the moon even with one week old
winter tire in 1997 . Thanks God ! I am still alive to discuss this with you.
With winter tires, you drive your car. Without it, car will drive you to others !!!

No problem KaaBoommmmmmmm...! I understand why you have this nickname
I got no problem while living in New York and Massachussette (might spell wrong!). I could drive very fast on the highway, but I don't drive fast on snow.
Well, we all have different experience.
