Ok, i attend a JC for a year and my gpa there is only 2.0 because i was lacking up bad. So i decided to start over at another JC, so i've been at the new JC for a year now and my GPA there is 3.7. Then financial aid told me to turn in a transcript of my old JC so they can evaluate it. So i turned in my transcript from the old JC. Next thing i know, they transfered the GPA from my old JC to my new one which completely lowered my new GPA. I'm looking at my currently unofficial transcript and there are 2 gpas, there is a: Bachelor Level Cum Totals (which is low now because they transfered it) and Mt.SAC Bac Level Cum Totals (which is just the new gpa 3.7). I'm going to apply to a UC pretty soon, so which GPA will they be looking at? if they're looking at the Bachelor Level Cum Totals then i'm in trouble! which leads to my main question is it possible to remove the old transcript from my new one? because i never want to transfered anything in the first place. I'm going to call them on Monday, but i just want to get you guys opinion because i am so worry right now =(. Thanks.
talk to your academic advisor is my best suggestion to you. i worked for a school before an i am pretty sure they will look at all your grade. keep in mind that school like progress and you show that. 2 to 3.7 is a big jump. keep it up. good luck.

I think they look at the total GPA.

If you transfer, I think just tell them the last one, ignore the previous until they ask :)
But if they ask, the will look at total GPA, they don't have time to evaluate individually.

Normally, most schools would only report the classes that you'd taken from that school only (they would not report classes taken elsewhere). For Cum. GPA, I think
they would do the same (only for those classes at that school). However, you need to check w/ your current JC Admission/Records to be sure.
When applying for Transfer, should only report the school/GPA that you want.
They may ask later for the other school, but you would have an answer & explanations just as you mentioned here & I think they would understand - after all, they are looking for students with good intentions to proceed higher education & you're definitely had good intention & had tried hard for that goal despite past mistakes (which already been corrected .... thus far ...)
Good Lucks.

what you need is call a fresh start.
what you should have done is before you start on the new JC, you should have filled out a fresh start so what happened before should not affect you. But since you have not done so than your old gpa will be there forever...

Hey! do not get tensed as nobody goes so particular about your every details. I think they only go for the latest and the total gpa is all they want. So go ahead with your good intentions and be straight of what you are doing.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I talk to a lot of people including my advisor and they said to just keep on improving the grades to show schools about my improvements. So i guess i'll just keep on doing it. Again thanks for the all the help. Happy New Year!

Why not talk to your advisor again, and find out what happens if you retake a class, (Assuming you bombed it) You may need to spend more time at the current JC to show consistency in the improvement, since an up and down record is as bad as a totally poor record. And if there is not enough of a time to allow for show of continuous improvement, lots of evaluators tend to think that you will slide down again real soon. Got an F once because Inst. would not sign drop slip, but I was working OT and missing too many classes. Only thing I could do was go back to same coll. two years later and retake the class. Didn't need it, but didn't need an F in there either.
