View Full Version : Different Tire PSI
My car's 2 front wheel got 35 max psi. the back wheels have one with 40 max psi and one with 44 max psi. I notice that wheel is kind of low on air so how much psi should i put in the back tires? should fill the two back tires with air relative to their max psi (example: 37 psi on 40 psi max tire and 41 psi on 44 max psi tire)? or should I keep both of the back tire with same psi..if so how much?

i am no car expert but it seems to me that you should replace or match the 2 rear tires to have the same spec for your safety, there are reasons for this but I don't want to get into it now, I am sure if anyone has time here can explain how imporant it's to have at least 2 front or rear are the same, 4 to be the same is best.
Back to your question, I personally don't go with the manual book that comes with the car brand new because the tires that we use now aren't the same with what came in the car when it was brand new. For me, I like to keep 5 PSI below the max on the tires, I know this is more than what it says in the sticker on your driver door, but I have been doing this for years with no problem. all my tires are max at 45, so I always want to keep them around 40. and if 35 is the max, I would say best to keep it around 30. This is my opinion only, I am sure a few people out there will disagree with my habit.

alway keep all four tires at the same psi...around 35...keeping the psi too high or too low will cause the tires to worn out prematurelly...plus uneven psi will also cause uneven wear on ur tires, could create problem when you drive
