this thing you have to take to auto shop, you can't do this at home, you could but it is hard, you will mess the whole thing because I am already try with my dad old car. At the shop they could lift your car above your head but at home you can only lift your car little bit height so you could laid under there (you know what I mean)

Just take your car to an auto shop, and ask them what wrong and how much the part cost, about CV joint which one are you talking about the driver side or the passenger side, and the inner or the outer, go to an auto parts store and ask for the part and don't buy the part at the shop (only if it cheap than auto parts store).

Last time i did this, I got a rip off, my inner CV joint on the driver side is loose, I take to the shop, just for the part they cost me $60, when I could buy it at any auto parts store for less than $20.

Check for CV Joint problems:

First, check the outer CV joint boots condition visually. You will be able to see them after turning the wheel outside, looking from the front of a car. None of them should be torn. ! If a boot is torn, it has to be changed immediately, or else, soon you'll need to replace the entire CV joint. In order to check a CV joint, you have to turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and drive around with little acceleration. Then do the same, turning to other side. There should be no cracking noise. ! If you hear "crack-crack-crack" noise while moving with turned aside wheels, the CV-joint has to be replaced. Try to check all CV joint boots regularly. They shouldn't be torn. Most of the vehicles have four CV joints. Try to inspect all of them. First sign if the boot is torn - there is some grease sputtered all around. If some boot is torn, it have to be changed immediately because the CV joint with torn boot may get broken soon.

Thay CV joint (khoảng 1-2 tiếng) cũng dễ dàng thôi nhưng bạn phải cần ít nhất là 2 người để làm!

Theo anh bạn Pika noi rang , dối với CV joint ngươi ta sẽ thay cả Drive Axle + CV joint một lúc vì take off and put on the CV joint rat la kho' . ColdWind co thay luon hai cai cung luc khong ?

If you could do it at home, then do it, last time I take my car to the auto shop they charge me $30 (only take them 15 min)

Cw có thay cái CV joints + Drive axle cho đứa em (93' Accord) mất khoảng 1 tiếng
Đây là bước chỉ dẫn;
1) Đội 1 bánh lên (trái hoặc phải)
2) Tháo bánh xe ra
3) Tháo brake caliber ra
4) Tháo dĩa thắng (brake disc) ra
5) Tháo 2 con ốc của strut mount ở phía dưới
6) Dùng cái chỉa 2 để knock cái mount ra khỏi CV joint
7) Kéo CV joints + Drive axle (1 long stick) ra

Rắp cái mới vào theo thứ tự ngược lại (nhớ trét mỡ bò cho trơn tru)

Pika co cau hoi thiet silly , xin dung cuoi nha. Sau khi thay xong cai CVjoint+Axle , cac ban liệng cai' cũ ở đâu ? Quăng thùng rác người ta có phạt không ?

ban Pika thuong cv joint khi minh mua , parts shop ho charge minh cai core, cho nen khi thay cai moi roi thi return cai cu (old one) de lay tien lai, nguoi ta se rebuild cai do lai.

Well thay CV joint cũng còn tùy thuộc vào loại xe nào, model gì. Thằng bạn tui có thay cho tui cái CV joint của chiếc Civic tui trước đây, tui tháy cũng đơn giãn lắm, lần khác tui có thể tự thay được ;). Như các bạn khác đã nói là Pikachu nên đem cái CV joint cũ xe mình để lấy lại được mí chục đồng có còn hơn không right? hơn nữa bắt buộc phải mua rebuilt CV joint thui, nếu mua OEM one mắc lắm.

Vi Pika da mua 2 cai CV boot cach đây mấy tháng rồi nên Pika nghĩ là sẽ phải thay CVjoint instead of a axle assembly . Trong trường hợp này Pika có thể dùng cái bearing puller để pull cái CV joint ra khỏi axle được hông ? Hay phải dùng đến búa tạ binh binh cho nó ra ? ( Xe của Pika là Honda accord 92 )

Như Cw đã nói trước là thay CV joints thì nên thay cả boot và axle (the whole stick). Không biết ai thay cho bạn cái boot, tại vì thay boot thì bạn phai cần 1 cái clamp đặc biệt xiết nó lại chứ nếu không bạn chạy vài lần là dầu mỡ nó lòi ra ngoài hết.
