Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is not a Truck :-)

I've heard a lot of people calling their SUV a truck.
This is not true at all.
SUV is based on car and they just make it taller that's all.
It's not a truck (cannot carried items like washer/dryer, big screen TV, refrigerator, ect ...)

If someone wants to buy something to haul stuffs, get a truck !!!

Yeap, it's not a truck. It's designed to run anywhere all conditions.

SUV stand for Sport Utility Vehicle, purpose: like camping, trip, outdoor adventure, etc. and truck purpose is carrying things

SUV is not a "taller sedan" !

SUV is SUV, it looks like a taller and bigger stationwagon .

However, some companies make their SUV base on a pick up truck . (once again, pick up truck is not a truck) .

Vietnam mình hay gọi mấy chiếc xe Tacoma , hay frontier là trucks . That is wrong, they're pickups !

Now, back to the main point ; Benz, Nissan , Ford, GMC, ..... make their ML, Exterra .... based on their pickup chasy . that is why they call those SUV are pickup based !

and that is also why they call the tacoma 4x4 is a pre-runner when TOYOTA call their famous SUV is four runner !

There are other company make the best and famous car / SUV like range rover, Jeep ... those SUV are SUV because they're special make and design . No one can call those SUV is truck based ! .

So, it's depend on which vehicle that you call it's truck based or SUV .

Porsche already has their first SUV. Not so nice at the design but they say it will be the best SUV on comfortable and handling . I personally fall in love with their beauty 911S (can't mention the turbo version due to the price). So, I will seat back and see what people say about the new SUV heh !

Pickup truck is also listed as small truck. It still can carries some stuffs like Refrigerator, ...

Lately, GM comes out with a funky type (both SUV/Truck ability) like the Avalance ... anyone is thinking about buying 1 of those? ... my friend did ... it's kinda cool

hồi xưa chevy còn ra một model đó là nửa xe sedan, nửa pick up . Nhưng bán không chạy . Bị dân chơi pick up chê, còn dân thích sedan thì không thèm mua .

Sau này , model 2003, Subarru (quên spell sao rồi ) làm 1 chiếc tương tự , convitcon thấy cũng có người mua chạy .



mai mốt chắc việt nam mình làm chiếc nửa xe ba gác nửa xe xích lô chắc cũng vui lắm ;)

personally...i dont like SUVs..
most out there arent true sport utility vehicles aniway..
off roading those suvs would b suicide...

i have a new name for those though..
grocery getter vehicles
or crazy soccer mom vehicles..<those that live in socal would know what im talking bout >
