Xe gia` ddu? thu benh het

I had the mechanic changed the timing belt within 20k, and now it start to make some rattling noises.
I went to schucks and bought one of the belt dresser, and calm it down a little but that is not a permanent way of doing it since it will come back and haunt me again.

What to do?

Thank you

They replaced a cheap belt, it stretched out after a while. re-adjust it. That'll fix the problem

"changed the timing belt within 20k" = about 6 month to 1 year of driving already.

"start to make some rattling noises" = grinding noise maybe

check the water pump could be going out on it by now

I think I have the same problem too. The car need to be warm up like an hour before the noise stop. For the first 2 minutes, the noises are literally unbearable . Then there is a gradual decrease of noise. So what should we do to stop this kind of noise? My car is kind of old too. Celica 91 GT. Just replace the timing belt and water pump.

Anyone who have experience with car, please help.

Wowow,
this is more infos than I ever need !!! Thumbs up for U
U got a cute little Legend there

I suspect the problem is they put in some aftermarket (cheap) belts and they got stretched ... My advice is bring your car back to where they replace the timing belt for U and ask the to re-adjust the belt. U should stand there to watch them and they should not charge U for this.
If they did not replace (or even asked U to replace) the water pump when they changed the timing belt, this is a very bad mechanic shop.
If water pump has not been replaced, it might be the water pump (bearing noise) problem as well. Replacing water pump when replacing timing belt is the best way to go (not much extra labor).

Let me know how it goes!
