Gas smell in the Car when driving???
98 Toyota Sienna LE.
Anyone who have a Sienna having the same problem or it just me? While driving in the car, the heat is on and the switch is flipped to the Fresh air size (where air are coming in from the outside). I can smell some sort of gas odors (like the fume from the car tail pipe), if the swith flipped to the recycle air side, then it is fine. Thanks ![]() |

Hmm,
I'm not familiar with this van. I can tell U few things: 1) Ur injectors might be leak (strange for Toyota?) 2) Did U just change ur fuel filter recently? It might be leak there as well. 3) Somewhere in the fuel line is leaking ... This can be serious problem. U should have someone take a look at it ASAP. U do not want to get your van on fire. Keep us posted!

You might want to check your exhaust system.

The recirc blend door located by firewall, I agree with Coldwind as to question if the Fuel filter has recently been replaced, also it is possible the the evasp cannister that vents the fuel tank has a loose connection(hose) or stuck/bad check valve. my 2 cents
